writing letters can result in strange things, a friend and I once used to write letters to each other even though we actually travelled backwards and forwards together to school everyday. it’s how we started to be such great friends actually. naturally I think it all started over a boy, you know the usual school thing being in love with somebody for about six years, keeping every chocolate wrapper scrap they might drop on the floor. then going to uni, studying abroad and being away from old friends was the perfect excuse for the paper trail of stationery that went through the postal system. i have boxes full of them and on finding them again and having had on and off phone service since moving i once again found the sheer pleasure of sitting down and writing a letter. now I’ll use any excuse to use gorgeous writing stationery

that i had for my birthday from fellow etsyian and blogger friend plainbananas, in fact I’m in the middle of her letter now. this can be a dangerous thing as time goes and everything relevant seems to pass and you never send it, but when my wrist springs back into action it will be finished. not sure how the wrist is going to hold up for the thank you bday notes but there is nothing better than stacking up the envelopes

ready to be posted, especially when they are as pretty as these vintage style hemlines stationery (chronicle books, san fran). I also love the japanese sanrio stationery I get from etysian world of kawaii… so sit down take some time out and write to somebody you have been meaning to contact for ages…
